Paintings by Marshall Lysander Johnson convey the
energy of the Northwest. Marshall splits his time between
a home in Federal Way and his studio/home on Orcas Island.
His distinctive style is reflected in vibrant colors using a
palette knife and brush work.
Johnson's primary medium is oil on canvas. Other works
Include watercolors, acrylics, woodcuts, serigraphs, and giclée
and sculpture. Many of his paintings have been reproduced
as open edition prints or limited edition lithographs.
A native of Bellingham, Washington, Johnson is a graduate of the
University of Washington and the Art Center College of Design in
California.
Well-known private and corporate collectors of his art work include the
Space Needle, Boeing Company, Foss Maritime, U.S. West, First
Interstate and Key Banks, St. Joseph's Hospital, Tacoma's News Tribune
And the United States Air Force at the Pentagon.
Johnson is an Artist/Member of the American Society of Marine Artists
(ASA) and a Life Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.
